Pod, announced
pod.codes is live. Pod, the studio's downstream distribution of Orca for macOS, is in preparation and has not shipped a build yet. The first release, 0.1, arrives as a Homebrew cask and a notarized DMG together.
What the first release brings
- A native terminal. Each pane is a native Metal view running Ghostty's engine.
- claude-acc, built in. Subscription rotation, the dev-server memory guard, memory-aware builds, cleanup, stay-awake and fan control, inside the IDE.
- No telemetry. Orca's telemetry, relay, push, share and feedback services are switched off.
Per-worktree setup through orca.yaml comes with Orca, as it is.
Coming after it
- coming Indexed code search for agents.
- coming Pod Workspace: a managed
~/podroot for your repositories, with git tuned for many worktrees and the worktrees kept tidy. - coming OrbStack VM environments, for agents that need a clean Linux machine.
- coming Automatic updates of the DMG from GitHub Releases.
