Install Pod
How Pod installs on macOS with Homebrew and the notarized DMG from the first release, and how Pod's command-line tool is named.
Pod is in preparation and has not shipped a build yet. This page describes the first release, 0.1: until it ships, the steps marked coming do not work. Watch the releases on GitHub to hear when it does.
Homebrew coming
From the first release, Pod installs as a cask from the studio's tap:
brew install --cask outof-place/tap/pod
Homebrew keeps it current:
brew upgrade --cask pod
Notarized DMG coming
From the first release, every version is also published as a DMG signed with the studio's Developer ID and notarized by Apple, on GitHub Releases. The app installed from it will update itself from the same place.
The command-line tool
Pod's command is podx. The name pod is taken on most Macs that build iOS apps: it is CocoaPods' command, and Pod stays out of its way.
Build it yourself
Pod is open source under the MIT license. The source, with the build steps in its README, is at github.com/outof-place/pod.
